How did you end up in Socal and what made you want to become a dog walker?

I was born and raised in Western Massachusetts. After many years working for a pharmaceutical company, I moved to Southern California in 2001 when a position within my company fell in my lap based in Los Angeles. There was absolutely no way I could turn this down as I’ve always loved everything about Socal.  While I was quite happy with my new life on the West Coast, I knew working for a large corporation ultimately was not for me or what would be a lifelong passion. I always say everything happens for a reason and when I was laid off in 2009 I took this as a sign and chance to pursue my dream of starting my own business and doing something I truly love every day. Hence the birth of Pupperton’s Dog Walking Services!

Why Dog walking?

I have had a deep love for animals my entire life, especially dogs. I was born into a dog family. Having them around me since the day I was born I truly cannot imagine a life not being a dog owner. I also have a profound love for nature, outdoors and physical fitness.  I believe that dogs are remarkable creatures that bring so much happiness into our lives and in return we owe them a life enriched with health, exercise and lots of love. Through my business I provide services for owner’s with pets that quite often lead busy lives and cannot commit to spending as much time with their pet as they would like. Whether it be hiking, walking, going to the beach, etc. it is sometimes quite hard to find that important and much needed time with your special animal. I will get your pets outdoors, exercising, and interacting with other dogs and puppies. It is a proven fact dogs are happier, better behaved at home and more loving when they are interacting with other animals and enjoying the outdoor.

Where are you located?

I am located in Santa Monica which offers beautiful canyons for hiking and wonderful beaches for a stroll along the ocean. My services are available in Santa Monica, Venice, Brentwood and the general westside area. As my staff grows I will expand service areas which is something I am very excited about.

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?

I offer both individual and group dogs walks for 30, 45 and 60 minute sessions as well as 90 minute group dog hikes. I have  limited availability for dog sitting services, that will change as I bring on staff.  I also provide basic training services to both you and your pet.

What makes youR SERVICE different?

I believe that all dogs large and small need physical activity as well as mental stimulation on a daily basis to be a happy dog when they are home with their owner. Socializing is also a key component of my sessions.

Depending on each individual dogs needs and abilities, my sessions include a fast paced walk as well as working on their training skills.  Dogs should have a minimum of 30 minutes of rigorous exercise daily.  I like to make sure my time with them gives them that energy release they so crave and also of course keep them healthy. Switching up their routes and routine just as a human would do while exercising is something I believe in as well to give them increased mental stimulation.

TELL ME ABOUT THE name, "Puppertons"?

As I mentioned before, my family always had dogs.  Through out my childhood we had several litters and five running around at one point!  I have always called my herds "My Puppertons.” It just became my name for them, and something I always said with a smile. When I thought about naming my business, "Puppertons" just seemed fitting for my pack.

What does the future look like Puppertons?

I am looking forward to bringing aboard a few team members as I grow and expand Puppertons. I will be bringing in a Pet service that allows GPS tracking, making it convenient and easy to see where your dogs go when they are in Puppertons care. I am also looking forward to taking my love for cooking, straight to your dog’s bowl with a line of organic treats and meals! I am very excited about the future with your pups and my growing team.

What parts of Los AngelEs do you service?

I walk dogs in Santa Monica, Venice, Brentwood, Westwood, Palisades, Topanga, Playa Vista, Playa del Rey and Marina del Rey. I'll be expanding into other areas as I staff up this year and next!

do you have insurance?
